There is a $264 million Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Friday, and a Michigander could become the fifth Michigan Lottery player to win the game’s jackpot on what some consider to be the unluckiest of days.
The Mega Millions game has been particularly lucky for lottery players in Michigan on Friday the 13th, with four lucky players winning the game’s jackpot on what many consider to be a cursed day. Those four jackpots totaled $171 million in winnings.
- June 13, 2008 – $57 million jackpot, won by a Kent City man
- May 13, 2011 – $27 million jackpot, won by a Kalamazoo man
- June 13, 2014 – $66 million jackpot, won by a Port Huron woman
- Oct. 13, 2017 – $21 million jackpot, won by a Waterford man
Michigan Lottery players will have a shot at a $264 million Mega Millions jackpot on Friday the 13th. The cash option for the jackpot is $117.3 million.
The Mega Millions jackpot was last won in Michigan in January 2021 by an Oakland County lottery club. The club won a $1.05 billion Mega Millions jackpot. That jackpot was the largest ever won in Michigan.
Lottery retailers throughout the state are selling Mega Millions tickets until 10:45 p.m. Friday. Tickets also may be purchased online at Michiganmilotteryconnect.bingoextra.net.
Mega Millions plays may be purchased for $5 each at Lottery retailers across the state and online at Michiganmilotteryconnect.bingoextra.net. Each wager includes a built-in multiplier that multiplies non-jackpot prizes up to 10 times to a maximum of $10 million. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
